February 10-11
Toronto, Canada

The Men's World Floorball Championships 2018 Americas Qualifier held this past February 10th and 11th at Ryerson University in Toronto. The two game aggregate series between the USA and Canada determined which team represents the Americas at the World Floorball Championships 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. Team Canada beat Team USA in both matches (3-2, 5-4) to qualify for the WFC 2018 in Prague.

The Ottawa Blizzard Floorball Club was represented by Team Canada GM Francis (Frank) Julien, forwards Matt Smith (Captain), Felix Robillard (3 goals), Cameron Buck (1 assist), Marc Landriault, Cedric Grenapin, defensemen Francis Lavergne (1 assist), Matthew James, Jakob Lavergne, Adrien Matthews as well as goaltender J-R Goulet.

The club would like to acknowledge Frank Julien for the enormous undertaking and success in organizing both the International Floorball Federation (IFF) sanctioned event and the Men’s Team on behalf of Floorball Canada. A big, big thanks goes out to Frank, as well as the Ottawa Blizzard volunteers who came to Toronto to help and the friends and family who came to watch in support.

Our focus now turns to Prague in December 2018 and getting our players ready to compete against the best teams in the world.
