It will be another eventful year for floorball in the Nation’s Capital. The Ottawa Blizzard will be hosting an icebreaker tournament in late September and will travel to Tourcoing, France in late October.

The regular season play will resume on Thursday, September 27th, from 8pm to 10pm at Assumption School, 236 Lévis Avenue. If you are a interested in joining the Club, please send us a short email with your name and email address so you can receive our weekly bulletin.

Silver for Blizzard at Canada Cup

The Ottawa Blizzard men’s elite team had another strong appearance at their latest tournament. Going into the event, they were seen as a middle of the pack team. However, the strong character, intensity and determination of the Blizzard gives them an edge on their opponents. In round robin action, Friday night, the Blizzard faced the tournament favorites, the Salming Vikings. The Vikings had plenty of fire power with 2 players from the Swedish Super League, Andreas Ackervi and Magnus Augustsson featured in Innebandy Magazinet. (more…)

Blizzard Captures Bronze in Montreal

The Ottawa Blizzard got off to a rocky start in round robin action with a 3-1 deficit to Toronto FC, Paradis was the lone scorer for the Blizzard. However the troop smoothed out the kinks and edged the Young Guns in a 2-1 battle. They saw goals coming from Henri and Fournier. On their third game, they posted a 4-2 win against Sahlaajat. Paradis had another solid outing with a pair of goals and the new line of Gaudet-Sneddon-Smith connected for 2 goals. The Ottawa Blizzard were then matched up against Montreal Fight Club, and defeated 4-1. Sneddon potted the lone marker. The final round robin game was played against the Toronto Vikings and ended in a heart-breaking loss of 3-2. Paradis and Smith scored for the Blizzard.

In semi-finals, the Blizzard once again suited up against Montreal Fight Club to be once again defeated 4-1. Sneddon was the only player for Ottawa to solve the Fight Club goalie. For the bronze medal game, the Blizzard faced Toronto FC as a round robin rematch. The stellar play of Blizzard goalie Goulet and the offensive prowess of Gaudet’s line saw Ottawa dominate the play and come out victorious in a 3-0 gain.
